The power creating medium utilizes the expansion of a special thermostatic wax material which remains in a semi-solid form and which is highly sensitive to temperature changes.

Construction is simple and rugged, yet the unit is very sensitive to changes in temperature. Changes in pressure do not affect the element and due to the valve construction, surges in pressure do not tend to upset the stability of the thermostatic valve.
